Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (360) Review

koopa_mua2_deadpool_marvel_ultimate_alliance_2_reviewAfter sitting in the bin for over two weeks TheGameReviews has finally posted my review of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 for 360.  There appears to be hope for TGR receiving some Web 2.0 capabilities in the near future, but I’ve decided that I will always be posting snippets of reviews, previews and editorials on the blog from now on.  It’s just handy to have all my content linked in one place, even for me.

Here’s your typical plug:

Beat-em up games were all the rage in the early ’90s. The ability to beat the crap out of anything and everything on the screen enthralled gamers, causing them to pour quarters into arcade machines far and wide. The story didn’t matter (if there was one), and neither did the setting. Hell the characters, whether specialized or not, were just tools to beat up other characters. Gamers loved the mayhem, the absolute destruction, the appealing nature of hitting one button and seeing a character lay waste to the enemy through a series of combo moves. Sure, it’s simple and repetitive, but at the same time it’s raw, fun, and downright entertaining. At it’s core Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is just a reinvention of the beloved formula from the days of grunge, pogs, and Doc Martens.

I had a lot of fun writing this review, I hope it shows.  There’s a theme in it, see if you can find it.
