Ubisoft’s Settlers 7 Engine Nothing Short Of Impressive

Now, I can be pissed at Ubisoft for its latest choice in DRM, but I have to give credit where credit is due.  Settlers 7‘s technology is absolutely stunning.

Sure, you’ll need a fantastic computer to mirror the above results (I wonder how well the engine scales…), but just look at those trees.  Oogle over the reflections and fluidity of the water.  Marvel at the “Far View Distance.”  And was that a mountain giant with over the shoulder boulders (he needs some support)?

Stunning.

Kudos to Blue Byte Software for building one of the most technologically impressive RTS games in a long time.
